We are happy to announce Mark Leach as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!

With Love From Tennessee and Let’s Get Lost were recorded in Nashville and contain nine of Mark’s own tunes. Mark spent over a year writing songs for the album with his brother Chris. "Each song is either something I went through, or a friend went through, or relates to something we experienced as a band while the album was in production,” says Mark.

In 2012, he won a “Rising Star” competition sponsored by radio station 99.5 FM (WGAR), which put him onstage as the opening act for Trace Adkins and Craig Morgan at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds’ Country Jam Concert. He also landed an opening slot for Kip Moore after telling him, “I’m gonna open for you one day.” (Moore remembered their meeting and a year later, invited Mark to open for him in Cincinnati.)

“Every day, I realize that I’ve exceeded the expectations I set for myself three years ago. One of my friends made me promise way back that every day, I’d do at least one thing to help my career, and I’ve lived up to that promise. I’ll always look up to those artists I’ve seen live, such as Eric Church, Justin Moore and Dierks Bentley, who stop for a second to take in the moment. I’ve seen all three of them tear up because you know that a dream of theirs came true that night. I’ll be one of those guys, whether it’s for 30 people or 30,000 people,” stated Mark.

Jimmy Olander, Grand Ole Opry Member & Diamond Rio Guitarist stated, "I watched his inspired collection of work get put together in the studio and have no fear . . . if the question is where are the true country singers? The answer is, wherever Mark Leach is!"

We know you wanted to learn more about Mark Leach, so be sure to check out our interview with the country singer below.

FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?

ML: My family's shop in Barberton, OH has one radio in it, and that radio only got one station when I was growing up; country. When I was like 4, I’d just be walking around singing Achy Breaky Heart and Alan Jackson songs. It's a style of music I've identified with my whole life; both for nostalgia and love of the stories told in country songs.

FBC: What song of yours is your favorite and why?

ML: I Come From Ohio. I think many people think that because they aren't from the south, they're not country. That song is not just about Ohio. It's about how country is in your heart; not in your zip code. And that's my favorite song I've released. I've got some killer tunes I'm sitting on right now for the next couple records . . . excited to get them out there!

FBC: What has been your favorite memory of your music journey so far?

ML: When Kip Moore emailed me to open for him. Don't know where I'd be right now if that didn't happen.

FBC: If you could duet with any country star who would it be and why?

ML: Eric Church. About 5 years ago, I was on the fence about whether or not I wanted to go for it in music. I saw him live with my brothers back then. We flew to Greensboro, NC to watch him play in his hometown. Once I saw that concert that was it. I was hooked -"that's what I want to do."

FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?

ML: Hmm... 1) My favorite movies are Dumb and Dumber and Rudy. 2) I love Mexican food. I could eat it all day, every day. 3) Other than listening to country, I'm actually a huge Fall Out Boy fan.
