We know you want to know more about Abi so be sure to check out our interview with her.
FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
AA: Growing up in Texas, I fiercely admired the country lyric and sound. I’ve always been one who listens to a wide variety of music, but the roots of country resonate most strongly with me. Even as a child I had a burning passion for music and was to determined to pursue it. Once I decided to do so and find my sound, although I do draw from other genres of music, I decided country would be the base of my artistry.
FBC: What do you use for inspiration to write your songs?
AA: In my opinion, it’s so important to be genuine and honest in songs. I do my best to write either exactly what I’m feeling in that moment and time, something I’m going/gone through, or about an event perhaps even one of my friends is going through that I relate to and feel inclined to write about.
FBC: What was the backstory/inspiration behind your song “Matches”?
AA: Matches was a song I wrote with two incredible people, Victoria Banks and Linsday Rimes. We came into the room and I had a desire to write a relationship song with a metaphorical twist that represented the excitement you feel when you share a strong connection with someone.

FBC: What was your favorite memory from creating the music video for “Matches”?
AA: Not only is it visually one of my favorite videos, I had an incredible time with my amazing team. I also got to do it alongside my boyfriend which was such a treat, we had a blast! The entire shoot was amazing and it was so much fun to see me and the director Ford’s ideas come to life.
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
AA: Shania Twain, hands down. I grew up listening to her, and she pioneered the country-pop genre for women.
FBC: If you could perform a duet with anyone who would it be and why?
AA: Shania, for sure!
FBC: What can fans expect from your upcoming EP?
AA: I’m so excited! I’ve spent the past year writing for this project and it talks about and embraces a part of life everyone experiences; I’ve always been someone who loves the idea of having a very themed and cohesive project, so I’m eager to hear the listener’s reception!
FBC: We’ve heard you are an anti-bully activist, how did you get involved with this?
AA: As a child, I definitely was a bit of a black sheep in the sense that growing up I lived in a very sports dominated town in Texas and was the absolute biggest theatre geek. I faced some hostility and alienation because of it at school, and their were times I felt so unbelievably alone and excluded. Because of my own experiences and emotions, and a big desire to help others, I found through singing and being in the public eye I would have the ability to spread my own experience and advice to a number of people.
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
AA: 1. I have a serious obsession with dogs— ask any of those close to me, and they’ll tell you I turn into a squealing five year old when I see one. 2. Fashion is one of my other loves aside from music! 3. I started out in musical theatre and would love to go back to the theatre one day.
