Today our Fresh Find Raihanna Estrada released her new single: Jump Off The Train. We were able to talk to Raihanna and find out what the inspiration was for this song.

"I chose this to be my single because it's an upbeat country tune that has a 90's country feel to me, which is an era I love. I wrote this on guitar and wrote all the lyrics. The inspiration for the song, I wrote it a couple years ago. I was in Sweden for a friends wedding. I have a lot of friends there because we were all roommates in Los Angeles during Music school. I was riding on the train from Stockholm to Gothenburg, it's about a three hour ride. And this story just came to me.

The melody for the chorus "I know there ain't no going back, but honey if I could I would and that's a fact, I'd jump off the train, to get back to you". It made me think about those spontaneous loves and relationships that are worth turning around for and also the ones that maybe don't work out and a little part of you is reminiscing on what once was. It was inspired by Sweden in the summer and the city. I really hope that people can relate to it, sing along and enjoy this song."

Raihanna Estrada is a country artist from California who now calls Nashville home. She grew up on a Ranch in Lake Berryessa in Napa County and fell in love with country music. She learned to sing from Disney as a kid and later artists on 90’s country radio such as Jo Dee Messina, Phil Vassar, Dixie Chicks, Tim Mcgraw and LeAnn Rimes. She started songwriting at age 13 and started performing whenever she could at Karaoke. In high school she moved back to Fremont, CA and continued by singing the National Anthem at rallies, sports games and performing at talent shows.

In 2009, Estrada made the move she had always dreamed of to Los Angeles where she attended Musicians Institute in Hollywood to complete the Vocal Program. It was the best decision she ever made. She put a band together, started writing new songs, and hit the ground running playing shows around the city. Her first full band gig was on the Sunset strip and she hasn’t stopped since. Raihanna isn’t only influenced by country music she’s also a big fan of Tom Petty, Brandi Carlile, Matt Wertz, Andrew McMahon and the Blackfoot Gypsies.

She met her husband Eric Bickerstaffe at music school, a Canadian guitarist from Calgary, Alberta. The two love being able to write music together, record, perform, travel and sharing the same dream.

Raihanna has recorded and released two EP’s. First a self-titled full band EP followed by the acoustic five song EP “Take Me Back” recorded/produced by Douglas Charles Showalter (guitarist for Cam) released in 2014. That same year in the Fall, Raihanna and Eric decided to make the big move to Music City and now reside in Nashville, TN.

Estrada can be found playing shows around Nashville, planning trips around the world on her travel page @thegoanywheregirl and on rare occasion getting to be a Bride in an Old Dominion music video (No Such Thing As A Broken Heart). She plays with an organization called The Nashville FAM: Female Artist Movememnt that is creating a platform for women to play their original music in Nashville. Her song “Road Trippin’” is going to be featured on the first ever Nashville Dreamin’ Country Vol. 1compilation CD that is due out November 24th followed by a release show. Raihanna is gearing up to release her new single “Jump off the Train” on October 17th, 2017. You can find it on all major platforms.
