Born and raised in western Nebraska, Lexi Larsen is a soulful sounding small-town girl with big city appeal. From the Galaxy of Stars Search to the regional Colgate Country Showdown, Lexi has been building a solid fan base across the country.

Country music’s sweetheart, Lexi Larsen, is excited to announce she has been chosen by Durango Boots to fulfill duties as a brand ambassador. Lexi funded her previous album Good Memories through Kickstarter with the help of her fervent fan base. The fans spoke up and showed their confidence in her and love for her music. Before the 30 day time period was up, she had collected a veritable mountain of donations to make the album she’d dreamed of. Good Memories is available now on iTunes. The country music newcomer recently released her debut album Good Memories with self-penned songs like “He’s On A John Deere,” “Something About A Sunday” and her first single “You Can Leave” which charted on the Billboard country chart, and was played nationwide on over 150 radio stations. Good Memories pairs her with some of Nashville’s greatest musicians to create a sound that is highly addicting and uniquely Lexi.
The Nashville-based singer/songwriter has captivated crowds as far away as Xian, China with a combination of her unassuming charm and powerhouse voice. She has taken herself and her band on three summer tours that have taken her from the wild motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota to two sold-out shows in her home state of Nebraska. She has opened for Country Music Hall of Famer and music legend Ronnie Milsap, hitmaker Phil Vassar, Warner Bros recording trio Gloriana as well as acts like Grammy-nominated Emerson Drive and most recently the award-winning Restless Heart. In December 2014, Lexi performed for two nights at the Venetian in Las Vegas as a part of the National Finals Rodeo.

FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
LL: I feel like I was born with a love of country music! I was two years old singing “I Will Always Love You” in my car seat! Honestly, I feel like it was my calling, never in my lifetime has country music not been a part of me.
FBC: What do you use for inspiration to write your songs?
LL: I love to use real life inspiration, feelings I have felt, things I have personally gone through. I have to be able to relate so if I am writing with other people I want to know their story, know how they felt good or bad and try to relive it myself and go to a time where I felt similar! So I get inspiration from real life and real stories.
FBC: What is your favorite memory from putting together your debut album Good Memories?
LL: My favorite memory is being out on the radio tour and traveling with the single “You Can Leave.” I met so many amazing people and saw so much of our country it was like an adventure every single day for 6 months!!
FBC: What was the backstory/inspiration behind your song You Can Leave?
LL: "You Can Leave" was written by Felicia Fay- King, Karin Paparelli and myself. We all were having relationship problems, we had breakups, divorce and waiting on a ring all in one room. We were all in a room and I said I want to write a song that says, “Hey Dude, you can leave if you want to, no one is forcing you to stay here.” We ran with that idea and 30 minutes later we had our song and we went and got our nails done! It was an awesome work day! HAHA
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
LL: Shania is my country music hero. Anyone who knows me knows she is my all time! I grew up listening to her and I wanted to be just like her. I love her confidence, her beauty and the way she made country music cool for women to be wild, free and fun!
FBC: If you could perform a duet with anyone who would it be and why?
LL: That is the hardest question but I would have to say George Strait. He is a legend, a cowboy and just the greatest. I would probably pass out if I actually met him though, let alone got to sing with him!
FBC: What are three fun facts about each of you that you want your fans to know?
LL: 1. My mom drives a Pink Cadillac Escalade, we LOVE lipstick in the family!
2. My grandparents own a town in Wyoming. Aladdin, Wy- Population 15. Look it up!
3. My favorite food of all time is movie theatre popcorn and skittles!
FBC: What was the process for Shakin' like? Where did you record the project? Did you write the songs?
LL: It was LONG! We have been working on this project for two years now. I wanted to release another EP but I wanted the songs to be right and the timing so we took our time and made it the best way possible. I recorded the EP at Yackland Studios in Nashville with Stephen Leiweke. He produced the “Good Memories” album as well. I was a writer on all three songs and wrote them with my greatest songwriter friends here in Nashville.
FBC: How is Shakin' different from Good Memories? Did your style change?
LL: I think they are different just in the way that I have grown up and found myself more than I had when I recorded Good Memories, I was a baby I feel like. My style hasn’t changed but I think I have evolved as a woman and musician and I think people will be able to hear that in the new Shakin’ EP.
FBC: Tell us about your EP release party tonight at The Country.
LL: It’s going to be so much fun! I play a lot in the Midwest so having a show in the town I actually live in will be exciting! I am excited to play the new songs and some older ones and then a few of my favorite covers as well. It’s going to be a great night to celebrate!
