Steven Martinez is an NYC native who discovered his love for music at an early age. As a multi instrumentalist, Steven has had the pleasure of playing in countless shows, as well as studio sessions, which he believes has helped him develop a better understanding of what it means to relate to listeners through music.

FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
SM: It must have been when I was ten or eleven, I remember for the first time, hearing a overdriven electric guitar. I fell in love with the sound and couldn't get enough of it. I had never picked up an instrument at this point, but begged my mom to buy me an electric guitar for Christmas. She did, and less than six months later I was on stage. I got an incredible response from the audience, and began recording music afterword. I was awestruck with the beauty of being able to share my music, and knew I wanted to make it my career.
FBC: What song of yours is your favorite and why?
SM: Like lots of people, I would say I don't have one single favorite song, but one that's been a favorite recently has been "Just South of Heaven" by Blake Shelton, off of his latest album. The lyrics paint incredibly vivid images, and I'm a sucker for songs that reminisce. All in all, the song is beautiful. From a songwriting stand point, it's definitely a composition that I look up to.
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
SM: 1) I'm terrified of heights. It's hard to even get me on a plane. 2) I play 8 instruments! 3) I have a teeny crush on Kelsea Ballerini. (Shh!)
