We are happy to announce Raihanna Estrada as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!
Raihanna Estrada is a country singer-songwriter who grew up in Lake Berryessa and Fremont, California. In 2009 she moved to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute. This move changed her life. It was there that Raihanna put her first band together and began co-writing and gigging around Los Angeles. Raihanna has played at venues such as The Wiltern Theater, Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, Nevada Wildfest in Las Vegas and even traveled to England Fall of 2014 to play at YeeHaw UK Country Music Festival.
In October 2014 Estrada released her second EP “Take Me Back” that was produced by Douglas Charles Showalter. It is an acoustic EP featuring dobro/banjo/acoustic guitar/fiddle of all original songs penned by Raihanna. This release and her debut self titled EP Raihanna Estrada are both available on iTunes and Spotify. “Take Me Back” received many reviews worldwide and even landed her an international artists page on W21 Music: The Home of UK Country Music.
Raihanna’s husband Eric is her guitarist and the two love being able to play, write, travel, perform and share the same passion for music. They currently live in Nashville where they are continuing their journey in music city writing new songs and playing shows. The two have plans to tour throughout the US as well as returning to the UK to tour in 2016.

“There are many factors that determine if an independent artist will make it over the threshold and begin their path to stardom, but the simple fact is that it all comes back to the songs. They need to be catchy, memorable, and something that we want to hear again and again. Those factors are exactly what Raihanna Estrada has accomplished with her brand new EP Take Me Back.” - One Stop Country, Nashville TN
“Raihanna has undoubtedly found her own voice and it shines on the EP, consistently graceful, occasionally mischievous and always engaging. Musically ‘Take Me Back’ has an appealing and rare sound, with its’ blend of Country, Bluegrass-lite and a subtle dash of Pop. Fingers crossed a full album is in the works so that we can all hear more from Raihanna Estrada.” - New Country UK

We know you want to know more about Raihanna Estrada so be sure to check out our interview with her below.
FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
RE: I’ve been singing country music since I was young and writing my own songs since age 13. I grew up on the greats of country in the 90s and learned to sing from listening to them on the radio and buying their CDs. I fell in love with the clever story telling and how country songs truly make you feel like they were written just for you. I knew I wanted to do that, too. I wanted to be a country singer-songwriter because it’s where my voice has always been the most natural and I love it. The guitars, twang, the stories, the feeling, it always felt right to me.
FBC: What song of yours is your favorite and why?
RE: One of my favorites is the title track from my second EP that is out on iTunes and Spotify called “Take Me Back.” I wrote it with my husband/guitarist Eric Bickerstaffe. It’s a nostalgic look to those relationships that could have been something more, the ones that have us going over the “what if’s and maybes” in our head and thinking about a time when things felt good but the romance never got the green light. I love singing it. I really connect to the lyrics because all of my songs have some part of me in there and I love the guitar part that Eric wrote.
FBC: What has been your favorite memory of your music journey so far?
RE: There are quite a few. Being an independent artist, every moment of the journey has been a big deal to me. It’s a rollercoaster, but it’s the only one I want to be on. One of the most exciting memories was booking the YeeHaw UK Country Music Festival September 2014 in England. It was the first time that Eric and I had ever played overseas! Being able to travel with my husband AND play music? That was an incredible experience! It was a quick trip but I’ve met a lot of amazing people in the UK Country music community since then who have really been supportive of my music. I was added to the International Artists page on W21 Music: The Home of UK Country Music and had many great reviews on my EPTake Me Back from UK Country sites. We are looking forward to going back again to hopefully play YeeHaw UK next year and some other venues in the UK.
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
RE: I grew up loving Jo Dee Messina and Phil Vassar. They are two of my all time favorites. I also really look up to Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Holly Williams, Jason Isbell and Brandi Carlile. Songwriting is so important to me and all of these artists are killer at writing lyrics.
FBC: If you could do a country duet with anyone who would it be and why?
RE: That’s a tough one! I look up to a lot of artists in different genres. At this very moment, I’d have to say that I’d love to do a duet with Jason Isbell or Brandi Carlile. I really love their lyrics and the raw emotion in their voices. They're amazing.
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
RE: I’ve consistently kept a journal since I was 13 years old. They’re super important to me and it's fun to look back on different stages of your life. Of course as I've grown older I don’t write every single day or even week like I used to, but I try to as much as I can.
I’m an only child and I was adopted by my maternal grandparents who I grew up to call my Mom and Dad. They are no longer with me, but they were the best parents a gal could have and I'm really thankful for my life and memories with them.
I LOVE to travel! Whether it’s a road trip, going somewhere here in the US or traveling overseas, I love being on the go. I don't like being in one place for too long. I'm a tumble weed and really value the memories I've made traveling. I’m always scouting the Internet for cheap plane tickets for a getaway!
