We are happy to announce Sarah Pierce as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!
The daughter of a cowboy and raised in a family of cattlemen, Sarah Pierce was born in
Rockford, Illinois, and raised in rural West Texas.
Sarah's dream of becoming a legitimate singer began to take shape at age 12, singing in her stepfather’s band. Always studying voice, after receiving her masters degree in medical science she began her musical journey, one that continues today.
Sarah has toured hundreds of thousands of miles - both domestic and foreign - receiving rave reviews at fairs, festivals, conventions, and concert dates from New York City and Los Angeles to British Columbia, with stops in-between in France, Italy, Germany and Scandinavia, and plays countless shows in her home state of Texas as well.
Besides her regular touring, Sarah has been seen in performance on MTV and was heard as the singing voice of Calamity Jane on the Emmy-nominated Time-Life television mini-series, The Wild West.
Her new CD, Barbed Wire, was produced by her husband and drummer, Merel Bregante, and includes special guests John McEuen (a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), world-class steel guitar player David Pearlman, plus two members of Reckless Kelly - Cody Braun on fiddle and mandolin and his brother, Reckless Kelly lead singer Willy Braun, who sings a beautiful duet with Sarah on a ballad they co-wrote, “I’m Sorry.”
“Her lyrics dazzle with elegant poetry that carries the listener over wide musical vistas on each soul-bearing turn of her incomparable voice."

We know you want to know more about Sarah Pierce so be sure to check out our interview with her below.
FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
SP: I was raised by a cowboy; that is all I knew and is an integral part of my soul.
FBC: What song of yours is your favorite and why?
SP: Wow! I have written a lot of songs! On the Barbed Wire CD, It would be “Barbed Wire.
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
SP: There are so many, as much for their strength and ‘cutting through the mud,’ as their amazing voices ... though with these women they had/have it all: Patsy Cline and Emmy Lou Harris.
FBC: If you could do a country duet with anyone who would it be and why?
SP: Willy Braun (of Reckless Kelly)! Willy because he is a great, soulful singer and a great writer; thus, the song ‘I'm Sorry’ on my Barbed Wire CD.
FBC: What was your favorite country song growing up?
SP: This is a little sad, but, the one that got me every time was, ‘For the Good Times’ by RayPrice. It was the only song that made my Daddy cry.
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
SP: Fun...never really think about myself that way, but I am a darn good fly fisherman, although I swear too much while I do it; I name all of my trucks; all of my children are fuzzy :).
