We are happy to announce the talented Matt Rogers as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!

“If you want someone’s attention—be different.” Matt Rogers has used that approach since he began performing. Bringing the freshest sound in country music, Matt Rogers delivers his unique approach to entertainment every time he steps in front of a microphone. As a singer and a songwriter, Matt’s original music is rich with emotion and struggle. As a cover musician, he brings a unique texture to songs and presents them in a different way—without disturbing the integrity of the original version.

Country music great TG Sheppard said of him, “You're the real deal man. You are the total package. You're a great singer, a great picker, and a great songwriter. I will remember the first time I saw you and it was right here when you arrived. And you have arrived.” Nashville singer/songwriter Melonie Cannon said, "Loved the tone of your voice. That gravely sound in your voice...that's not something you can just pull off. That's a very cool sound—very unique. We were trying to figure out is there somebody that you sound like—and I don't know anybody with that voice—that's a good thing. Keep writing. I dig it.”

In March 2015, Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and CMT selected "I Was Raised" for a songwriting achievement award. In October 2015, "I Was Raised" went on to be selected by NSAI as a Top 40 song. His song, "Read My Mind" was selected in October 2015 by the International Songwriters Competition. He was a finalist in the Georgia Music Awards for Country Male Artist and Music Video of the Year for "I Was Raised." He is currently a finalist for the Georgia Country Awards for Male Artist of the Year and Overall Artist of the Year. He was selected in August 2015 by NewTown Macon as one of ten artists to contribute an original song for Macon Music Volume 1--a project that best represents the music talent in Central Georgia.

As Matt transitions to the next phase of his music career, he knows that he will not let go of the past. It’s the bumps, bruises, and heartache that make for the next country hit that he will record. He will continue to write, perform, and meet the people who listen to and embody the southern traditions and way of life.

We know you want to know more about Matt Rogers so be sure to check out our interview with him below.

FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?

MR: I have always been engaged in music in some form or fashion from the time I was able to speak. Being who I am (my values and principles) is what made me migrate toward country music.

FBC: What song is your favorite and why?

MR: Up to this point, "I Was Raised" because it speaks to who I am and what I'm about. It's honest and heartfelt.

FBC: What has been your favorite memory of your music journey so far?

MR: Hearing one of my songs on the radio for the first time was a moment that I'll always remember. Hopefully, there will be a lot more radio time, but that first time was a feeling that I'll never forget.

FBC: How did it feel to be a 2015 Georgia Country Awards Male Artist and Overall Artist of the Year finalist?

MR: It's humbling when people are recognizing what you've done and how hard you're working. But, getting into this business for JUST winning awards and getting recognition is the wrong reason.

FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?

MR: I would have to say Zac Brown. I was able to watch the rise of Zac's success. He never lost sight of what he wanted to be as a person and musician. His music has definitely evolved, but he was never afraid of pushing the limits or being different.

FBC: If you could do a country duet with anyone who would it be and why?

MR: There are far too many people I would like to collaborate with. I would truly love to work some of the powerhouse vocalisst like Carrie Underwood or Chris Stapleton. Vocal talent like that is moving.

FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?

MR: 1) I'm a definite foodie. I'm about that life. 2) I am an avid shooter and gun enthusiast. 3) I enjoy conversation with new people and seeing how unique we as people are.
