We are happy to announce the talented Mitch Goudy as our first Fresh Find of December here at Freshly Brewed Country!

Identifying himself with artists such as Luke Bryan and Hunter Hayes doesn’t do justice to the new male voice in country music, Mitch Goudy. Mitch is a small town boy from a close-knit rural Iowa family that has burst onto the regional music scene. Every time he picks up his guitar and starts to sing you know that this guy not only has the roots for authentic country music, but the heart to back it up.

Hailing from the cornfields of southeast Iowa, Mitch grew up surrounded by a sense of pride about who he is, what he believes, and how he rolls. His interest in country music started when he first picked up a guitar after suffering a traumatic knee injury that would forever limit his ability to play sports. His dad bought him that first guitar, put it in his hands, and said “Let’s see what you can do.” At that moment Mitch found his passion. Since then he has been rocking stages around the region. He has performed with an all star cast on the stage at the Sondheim Center, frequented many open mic nights, and even opened for country music superstar, Joe Nichols. His energetic, yet thoughtful stage presence makes him an artist to watch in the coming years. “Great listener feedback! We are enjoying blowing these speakers out down here in Ardmore! Love new talent when it sounds like this.”

- Becky Parker, WSLV, Ardmore, TN

“Great new voice. It can be hard to keep it country while also rocking it out, but this kid found a way to be true to both!”

- Steve Robbins, WMMG, Brandenburg, KY

We know you want to know more about Mitch Goudy so be sure to check out our interview with her below.

FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?

MG: Well, I actually didn't choose to be a country musician. I was secretly writing songs in middle and high school, and when I showed my manager, he told me I was writing country songs. That what was natural for me. I imagine it's because I grew up going to country concerts, it's what I loved to listen to. Then I went to my first big city, and realized how country I really was. Haha

FBC: What is your favorite part about performing?

MG: Being a part of making other peoples nights. I enjoy getting lost in the music.

FBC: What has been your favorite memory of your music journey so far?

MG: A girl at one of my shows was singing the lyrics to my song. I think that’s something you just don't forget.

FBC: What was the inspiration for your latest song My Girl's Hand?

MG: I wanted this specific girl to be happy over anything, but unfortunately I could see that wasn't going to be with me.

FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?

MG: Garth Brooks hands down. Grew up listening to him and really admire how amazing of an entertainer he is.

FBC: If you could do a country duet with anyone who would it be and why?

MG: Garth Brooks of course. I would love to do a cross roads someday. That would blow me away.

FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?

MG: 1) I love racing ATV's. 2) I'm turning into my Dad, I love watches and pens. 3) I can't throw a Frisbee.
