We are happy to announce the talented Shane McNulty as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!
Canadian born country singer Shane McNulty grew up in the Ottawa Valley, deep in the roots of its music and agricultural charm.
Influenced at a young age by his father, who was an accomplished pedal steel player, Shane quickly developed a passion to follow in his dad's foot steps. Shane quickly became a familiar face in the local country music scene. playing the acoustic guitar, drumming in his father's band, and fronting various country cover acts.
Shane McNulty is what country music stands for. Farming during daylight hours, playing bars up and down the Ottawa Valley until the wee hours of the morning, while still finding time to write.
In song he expresses the trials and tribulations that wind in and out of his life. Shane's new cd Cold Beer N Barbwire sums all of that up. The CD blends twelve songs of true to life experiences that touches home to all of us.
Cold Beer N Barbwire is Shane McNulty's second released cd.
His first release was a self titled and self promoted EP that received local and international airplay, making him a main stay on the local BDS station Y101 Country.
The EP also received airplay reports across Canada and throughout Europe, and charted in the top 30 on the Canadian country charts.

We know you want to know more about Shane McNulty so be sure to check out our interview with him below.
FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
SM: I've always enjoyed music from a young age. Playing on stage is and always will be the coolest part of the music world. I just felt the need to see if I could take my music to the next level, to take a serious run at becoming an established artist.
FBC: What is your favorite part about performing?
SM: My favorite part about performing is the fact that I am surrounded by incredible talented musicians. They bring my songs alive and then to see the results of that in the crowd. That is my favorite part.
FBC: What has been your favorite memory of your music journey so far?
SM: We did a show in May of this year, opening for the legendary Marty Stuart. That has to be my most memorable show to date.
FBC: What do you use for inspiration when writing your songs?
SM: When I write I draw on real life experiences, some my own, and others I may have witnessed or maybe how you would like things to be. You could write all day on the curve balls that life throws at you, but I try to see the lighter side as well.
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
SM: To say I have one idol would not be true. There are so many that I look up too. I love the smooth sound of Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins. Also the southern rock sound of Travis Tritt. Brad Paisley and Keith Urban would be todays choices- they are the full package; guitar, vocals, and entertainer. But all in all, my dad on the steel will always be my idol.
FBC: If you could do a country duet with anyone who would it be and why?
SM: I have always loved Martina McBride, so she would definitely be my choice for a duet partner. She has a magical voice in my opinion.
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
SM: Three fun facts eh?! Well I love the outdoors, I have a log cabin that I built years ago. Going there always involves the 4-wheeler and working my saw-mill. Two; I can make you laugh, I have some pretty good, spontaneous one liners! And I am also an avid hockey fan, so its always fun to get out to the games with dinner and drinks to make it a fun time.
