We are happy to announce the talented Christine Bauer as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!
At the age of 24, American Singer/Songwriter, Christine Bauer, is ready to take her music to the world in a big way with her new EP 'If I Could Have Chosen" produced by Paul William Ray. The EP follows the successful release of her debut EP ‘Independence’ (2013), also produced by Ray, and is bound to leave listeners inspired at the very least .
The songwriter's reflection of difficult times, decisions both good and bad, and a burning desire for more out of life resonates her maturity of acknowledging it is hard to make choices in life and even harder when choices aren't given. Through the topics of love, loss, and reinvention, this captivating songwriter takes you on a ride of emotion and honesty with her unique country pop sound.
Christine is an independent artist supported by many fans, friends, and family who encourage her to follow her passion for music, all while supporting herself as a full-time night shift nurse. To get to this very moment, learning why certain choices came and others were left out of her hands, Christine knows exactly where she belongs and is ready to share 'If I Could Have Chosen' with the world.

Be sure to check out Christine Bauer's music today.

We know you want to know more about Christine Bauer so be sure to check out our interview with her below.
FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
CB: I've had a passion for music since I was a kid. Any kind of music that really makes me feel something and takes me to another place is my favorite and Country music often does that. I think the genre itself has really held on to the importance of a melody; even with the changes it has experienced over time it still holds true to itself. I also admire those before me who paved the way for storytelling and the variations in Country music we have today.
FBC: What song of yours is your favorite and why?
CB: That's a TOUGH question! Like asking me to pick between children! I guess if I'd have to pick (three) I'd say "Didn't Change" is the one I'm most proud of due to the style and honesty of it, "The Year" is a very personal one for me as well and has had a great impact on others, and then there is "One Last Time". I tend to navigate toward depressing songs!
FBC: What do you use for inspiration when writing your songs?
CB: Almost all of the songs I've written were based on personal experiences. Because of this, I've learned to let songs come as they want and not to force them. It's weird because I can start writing a song and know something will come from it I don't understand yet. Some just hit but others come through slowly...I can hear them in the distance but I'm not quite sure what the words will be yet.
FBC: What is the back story to your single "Drink Us Away"?
CB: I wrote "Drink Us Away" almost 5 years ago, I didn't even realize it's been that long! That song is one of the odd ones that actually came out of no where...I was in my room at my parents' house and started playing the intro. It took a while so some of the lyrics in there eventually came from personal experiences with people in my life. I love what my producer, Paul William Ray, did with the final master on the EP, it's really haunting!
FBC: What was the most exciting part of putting together your EP "If I Could Have Chosen"?
CB: Getting to record the vocals was a blast, and I had a great recording engineer (Scott Gaeta) to help me. However, I'd have to say my favorite part was hearing the mixes for the first time. I would send Paul (he lives in Australia) my acoustic demos after writing the songs and then he would work on the production. He really brought them to life. I may have cried a few times after getting a mix back!
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
CB: Another tough question! I'm a huge fan of Carrie Underwood...she has stayed true to herself in the industry and has such a powerful voice. As for songwriters, there are many out there who haven't yet reached where I think they should be in terms of recognition, and they have been huge inspirations for me (Ashley Monroe, Holly Williams, Erik Dylan, Eric Paslay, Logan Mize).
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
CB: 1) I'm obsessed with candles, perfume/cologne, and fabric softener. Anything that smells good! 2) I've never seen the ocean but plan to change that this year. 3) I crush up Spicy Doritos and put them in my chili....yumm!!
