We are happy to announce the talented Justin Phillips as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!
Justin Phillips is a 26 year old Country artist born in Valdosta, Ga. Justin grew up in music as his dad was a Country artist opening for acts such as Rhett Akins, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney in the 90's. He picked up the guitar at age 15 and learning other instruments followed right after.
He joined a cover band with his dad playing bars and venues around the south. He then released his first album titled "Kickin' up dust" in 2013 and his audience grew tremendously. Justin made the move to Nashville, TN in March of 2014 and plays songwriter rounds around town, as well as touring to multiple states.
His new single will release November 6th this year and is looking to make some noise in the Country music industry.

FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
JP: I grew up on Country. My dad was a Country artist and opened up for acts such as Tim McGraw, Rhett Akins, and Kenny Chesney back in the 90's. He was a strong influence for me growing up and still is.
FBC: What song of yours is your favorite and why?
JP: It's really hard to pick a favorite when it comes to my songs because they all mean something to me, but my favorite to perform would have to be a song that's not released yet called "123 drink" that I wrote with my buddy George Irwin. If you catch me at one of my shows I'll play it and you'll see why.
FBC: What do you use for inspiration when you write your songs?
JP: I write about real life. Yeah I've got artists that I look up to but at the end of the day it's really my friends and family that inspire me and help make writing easier.
FBC: What is the back story to your single "You got it"?
JP: Most of the lovey dovey songs are about my wife honestly.haha she makes it easy when it comes to writing those.
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
JP: Luke Bryan. If you've ever met the guy you'll know how down to earth and easy to talk to he is. His music is great, the lyrics inspire, and he brings so much energy to the stage. He is what every artist should be striving to be.
FBC: What are three fun facts about you that you want your fans to know?
JP: 1) I love playing golf. I started when I was around 12 playing the local course in Lake Park, GA with my grandad. 2) I can do a pretty mean chewbacca impression haha. 3) I collect comic books. I have roughly 400 comics (Marvel only)
