Last October we introduced you to our Fresh Find Shelby Lee Lowe for the first time and now we are here to tell you about his new self-titled album!

Shelby began listening to Eric Church, Tracey Lawrence and Hank Williams in high school and enjoyed singing along.

Inspired by their story telling and power behind the songs Shelby was hooked and went on to tell stories of his own with this album.

Although new on the country music scene Shelby Lee Lowe has the traditional country music sound that a lot of today’s music has been missing due to influence from his idols Dwight Yoakam, George Jones, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Made up of 13 unique songs there is truly something for everyone.

“Honky Tonk Race” and “Plan B.E.E.R” are just two of the songs that will get you on the dance floor and you might catch yourself sining throughout the day, we most certainly have!

In an interview with us Shelby shared that although it is difficult to choose a favorite song he loves to play “At It Again” and “Slow Dancing” is one of those songs that have a deeper significance and means a lot to him as an artist.

Most of Shelby’s song inspiration comes from real life stories from his life or his family and friends. One of the things that makes Shelby’s songs so relatable is that he writes about things that he loves. That emotion is felt in everyone of his songs and is another thing that makes Shelby stand out in the music industry.

Our Favorite

Having to choose a favorite from this album has been a challenge all itself, but the one song we can’t seem to get enough of is “Slow Dancing.” What can we say we are a sap for love songs! With his lyrics Shelby easily paints a picture of two people falling in love and we will keep our fingers crossed that this will turn into a music video.

About Shelby Lee Lowe

2016 is proving to be a “Banner Year” as Shelby’s first full production album is scheduled for release on Banner Music Records on August 26th. Lowe penned eleven of the thirteen tracks and was very involved in the production as he wanted to be assured the project reflected his live sound as well as portray his artistic vision.
