We are happy to announce the talented group The Runaway Hamsters as our latest Fresh Find here at Freshly Brewed Country!
"They're young, they're energetic, they're enthusiastic. They're idealistic and charismatic and have a flair for the dramatic. On stage, they are The Runaway Hamsters, a youthful rock 'n' roll 'n' country pop band, which is nothing if not captivating. They are siblings - Isabella, 11, and 10-year-old triplets, Abby, Gabby & Riley"
– Katherine Jones @ The Idaho statesman.
From the kids: "We truly got our start as TRH by helping a friend who had cancer. We recorded a simple song, had CDs made which we sold to raise money that was donated to the hospital caring for our friend. Our story got picked up nationally and we began to get calls from all over the country. We were interviewed on radio stations & Media from coast to coast and eventually producers approached us to make an album. We chose to work with Kent Wells Productions in Nashville (Dolly Parton's producer). Kent connected us with songwriters and has also written with us himself. He shares our vision, passion and love for music." The Runaway Hamsters produced their first official EP in 2015 and their second release, "A Little Country" was released June 1, 2016. TRH creates music that is original, engaging and heartfelt. Their lyrics can be touching with a dose of humor with the aim of leaving the listener happy. You will be smiling if you take the time to enjoy! TRH has been involved with music from a very early age starting with piano lessons, which began at 5 years old. They all love to write, and each plays a variety of instruments. They all like to help others. Their hashtag is #wehelpfriends! 2015 was a very busy year for TRH. Major performances included opening for Andy Grammer at Baldapalooza in Boise, ID and performing in Nashville, TN at the world famous Bluebird Café. They helped raise over $114,000 in 2016 for the Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon @ Boise State University.
The Runaway Hamsters have made numerous other appearances in Idaho, Tennessee and California where they offer their support as ambassadors to other children at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. In August of 2015 they received news that they had been submitted for consideration for a
Grammy and they dream of someday winning it. They would say that would be "Hamsterrific"

We know you want to know more about The Runaway Hamsters so be sure to check out our interview with them.
FBC: What made you want to get involved in the country music world?
TRH: Well, as songwriters we have always looked up to Taylor Swift. She was young when she started out and loved music, like us. She is also an incredible song writer and an amazing performer. But, we also loved & listened to the older artists too. Dolly Parton, George Jones, Merle Haggard, & Johnny Cash to name a few. Our parents listen to a lot of country and were also involved in music for years so I guess it’s in the genes! We love that the country music community has been so welcoming to us and it feels like a big extended family. Our producer Kent Wells has been one of our biggest inspirations and mentors. Writing songs and going into the studio for us is SO much fun. Even though you have to work really hard and do things over and over again, we do love it. Nashville has become our second home so we are always happy to get back there and around all the incredibly talented music people. They inspire us. The players, songwriters, studios, radio, video, stylists & all the different venues you can play. We could go on and on.
FBC: How did you guys feel when you found out you were being considered for a Grammy?
TRH: Hamsterrific!!!! WOW, it is truly an honor!!! There are so many amazing artists in the world and to think we even get to be mentioned along with them is so awesome!!!! We are so grateful.
FBC: What do you all use for inspiration to write your songs?
TRH: Oh my gosh, there are so many things. We write about people we have met, food we eat, places we have traveled, and things we do to try and make a positive difference in life and the lives of others.
FBC: What is your favorite song from your album “A Little Country” and why?
Isabella: “Summer Afternoon” - I love to sit outside in the summer, I love the sunshine and water. I love to swim and I also love the afternoon rain showers where I can sit outside on my front porch and listen to them. Rain makes a lot of people sad but it makes me really happy. When I listen to the music in the song I feel like I’m right back in summer.
Abby: “A Little Country” - I love being outside and this song is all about that. Plus, making the music video just brought it all together. There were so many great memories about writing the song and also making the video that it has a very special place in my heart.
Gabby: “A Little Country” - I love what the song means. It’s a feel good song all around.
Riley: “Summer Afternoon” - I really love the music and the whole meaning of the song. It’s just one of my favorite times of the year.
FBC: Who is your country music idol and why?
Isabella: Our producer Kent Wells because I think he is the most fabulous and talented singer, player and songwriter I have met and I honestly mean that.
Abby: Blake Shelton because his songs make me feel good and usually happy. Also, he is pretty funny!
Gabby: Dolly Parton because I love that she is always happy and even if she might be sad one day, when she walks on stage she will ALWAYS be happy. She loves fashion & lots of sparkles.
Riley: Dolly Parton because she is extremely talented. The songs she writes are stories about what she loves and what she has lived.

FBC: What are three fun facts about each of you that you want your fans to know?
Isabella: I’m mostly quiet, but I love to tell jokes. I love funny old shows like Carol Burnett. I have never cut more than 1/4” off of my hair.
Abby: I love reptiles. If I could have a superpower, I would turn into an animal for the day. I’m adventurous.
Gabby: I can play the guitar, bass and harmonica. I like to wear a lot of jewelry, especially rings. My #TomCat likes to make FB Live videos. He is really crazy and…he can TALK.
Riley: I’m really energetic. I love animals. I can’t leave home without my hair product.
